Our SCC logo consists of the Christian monogram of a chi (X) and a rho (P). These are the first two letters of the Greek word, Khristos, or Christ. The SCC (Sisters of Christian Charity) forms one side of the X. This symbol reflects the Sisters as living together in Christ for the mission of Christlike love. It can be worn on a chain or as a pin.
We are the Sisters of Christian Charity,
Daughters of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
This title expresses our life’s purpose:
“to glorify God by letting the love of Christ so fill us
that it flows over to love of others,
in our service of the Church.”
–SCC Constitutions
We are women who walk in the footsteps of our Foundress,
Blessed Pauline von Mallinckrodt,
whose charism (particular gift of the Holy Spirit)
was an intimate union with God
which overflowed into a joyful, enthusiastic service of the human family.
We are consecrated women religious
who have made a commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
through the public vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience
lived in community
and expressed in works of charity that serve the needs of our world.
